Barry, my argument is that I don't think I would want to live if I smashed my car up bad enough to break the wheel anyway. LOL

I agree Jeff and I'll add that the openings in the 1967 only version of the recall wood grain wheels are also said to have sharp edges on the insides of those slots, which was impossible to fix due to the chrome finish that was used on the spokes. It seems that owners were actually getting serious cuts on their fingers when they would put their fingers through those slots while driving and some type of an emergency would happen and even cleaning these wheels was an adventure. From what I understand, Chrysler tried to fix this problem by placing "horn bars" in the spoke slots, but decided that it would be better to just redesign the spokes on the wood grain wheels, which they did in 1968. This was also not a problem on the 1966 wood grain wheels, because those wheels had solid spokes with no slots.
Below are some pictures of the various 1966, 1967 and 1968-69 wheels for comparison.
1966 version with a Plymouth horn button.
1967 "recall" version without the horn bars installed.
1967 version with the horn bars installed and a Plymouth horn button.
And the 1968-1969 version from a Plymouth Road Runner with the redesigned spokes.

Can I have your other B-bodies when that happens? Please don't impale yourself on the copper 67 vert (or the blue GTX or the red GTX). I want that one (and the red one and the blue one). Come to think of it, if you're going to use the recall wheel to impale yourself, please consider putting it into your Chevy van first (no point in wasting a perfectly good B-body).

I hear that he's going to put one of those recall wheels into a very nice white Plymouth B-Body station wagon that he has Jim.................
