I don't have any info on Mexican Coronets. The reason I asked for the first four was to determine if it was American or Mexican. So that's already been determined.

You can see parts of the American VIN in the number, but other than that I have no idea.

BTW, I can't wait to see updated pictures of it's progress. Do you have any idea when you expect it to be finished?

We've had a few very interesting conversations regarding the 1966-1967 Mexican built Coronets here in the past, so it's fantastic to have a member who actually owns one and can show us all of the differences between the U.S. and Mexican built cars! Cool

As far as staying with the factory drum brakes or swapping over to disc brakes goes, I'd say that if you had a numbers matching car that was still very original, I'd keep the factory drum brakes, but since you've mentioned that you're using an engine from another car and will be changing the body color from the original Blue to Black, I'd consider going to the disc brakes and build the car to be fun and safer to drive.

I will also mention that the aftermarket parts suppliers were reproducing complete rear tail light assemblies and related trim mouldings for the 1966 and 1967 Chargers as well as other exterior trim parts, but I don't remember if they were also offering front grille assemblies or not.

By the way, below are pictures of a U.S. built 1966 Coronet that was for sale on Ebay last year that had a 1966 Charger front clip added along with a 66 Charger dashboard assembly and floor console as well and I think the car looks extremely cool.
