Here is a hand drawn sketch of what I did to my 67. I re wired it because the under hood wires were stiff and crispy. I had to put the new VR and ignition system on a Relay due to voltage drop thru the bulkhead. My old VR was not affected by the voltage drop because I was running on one field, other field went to ground with the old style VR.
Also forgot to mention that I ran another wire from the alt to battery down under the radiator core support and back up to the battery. I had installed a fused junction block near the battery to power my headlights that I also put on relays as well. But thats another episode...
Update.problem solved!the relay took care of The voltage drop causing my overcharging.i want to thank all who chipped in to help me solve this.in particular joe ( Hibbing) the schematic really helped.now I can drive the old beast without worrying about the elec system (for now).i hope I can help someone else.david
