locating my old car
#1
Hi all,

I don't own a Coronet at this time (have 1970 Charger RT), bought my first car when I was 15, 1970 Coronet RT 440 six pack, long pistol grip 4 speed (paid $1500!), eventually sold for college money for $2300 to a guy in Schenectady NY, think I sold it in 1986-87 around there. I don't have the VIN info anymore, I think there were only 97 of these built as six pack/4 speeds, I would like to try and track down the car if possible, see what shape it is in today, where it is located etc. Any suggestions how to do this? Would the state of NY still have my registration records so I could find the VIN? Maybe I could find in some MOPAR registry any cars like this with owners in NY (if same guy maybe kept it). Sure wish I had kept that car! Thanks for any help, ideas. Old Photos when I had it attached.

Ian

Without the vin it's difficult. Check with your insurance company and see if they might have old records. Do your ember who you sold it to or where the guy lived? You could search newspaper archives to see if he advertised the car at some point. Good luck!
