Hi all,
my 55 Coronet runs a later 318 cu in engine, believed to be late 60's early 70's. How can I find out what year it is? Will the engine number tell me or is there a way to decode the engine number?
Thanks
Zakk

on the passenger side of the block below the head towards the front there will be a casting date cast right into the block. also on the front of the block below the drivers side head there will be #'s stamped in, they are smaller #'s and sometimes hard to see. this will include the VIN# and CID. on the drivers side of the block below the head toward the rear there will be the casting # this will also tell you the CID at the end of the #, but will give you just a casting # that was used for many years and will not be of much help.
