I looks really good and great Idea using the plastic pushpins because I know the original clips are nonexistent
I was also contemplating using 3m double-sided tape because I don't have the holes I was trying to avoid drilling any

Thats not a bad idea either. They make adhesion promoter wipes that REALLY makes the tape stick. I only recommend applying it to the molding side. After that stuff is applied you don't get a chance to reposition! A technique to avoid lifting/repositioning is to leave the backing on except for one end where you peel back an inch or two. Line the molding up and then have a helper start to pull the backing as you keep it positioned. Careful not to break the backing as your pulling!
