Just got home from the Monster Mopar weekend in Norwalk. It was a great crowd - (predicted 400 race cars had 600). Overall had a great time!
Been wanting my car to run 9:50's for a long time - Saturday night was my golden opportunity. Weather was great! Car had run a 9.610 earlier in the day. Computer said it should run at least a 9.58. Nope - ran a 9.615. Why - because this idiot had the car way lean. I had jetted it up 3 jets on the prior run, but it needed 4 or 5. So I need to wait for another day with good weather.
However, the 9.610 is a personal best. Prior to that it had run a best of 9.628. Once I get the car fully sorted out it should not have too much problem with high 9.50's in good weather. Still sorting out the Alterkation front end and new rear suspension setup. However, the last several runs were awesome. Pulled perfect wheelies (not too much not too little) and kept it up quite a distance.
Managed to win 2 rounds. One of them we both had 0.022 lights - he ran a 9.103 on a 9.10 dial-in and I ran a 9.611 on a 9.61 dial-in. Won by 0.002 seconds! This 9.611 was in considerably worse weather than the previous day's 9.610 so the car definitely likes the bigger jets and shows it definitely would have run a 9.50 run the night before.
Last run I got treed. Other fellow had a 0.001 light to my paltry 0.011 light! My car slowed a tad so I had no chance..........
I'm excited to get the car ironed out and get back to competitive racing. There are some things that became apparent this weekend that I need to fix to make me more competitive.
