license plates that are them ....
when i was over seas ( its been a few times ), that i notice at what you just said ...
they run to different tyres: summer n winter
some also bought another set of wheels to one set of the season tyres on them,
so when it came time to switch wheels, they just removed one set n put the other on.
instead of going to the tyre shop, always switching the rubbers on them

Welcome to my life and winter in Canada... We have at least one province that I know of (Quebec) where it is law to have vehicles equipped with snow tires for the 6 months snow persists.
They are considering passing a similar law here in my province of New Brunswick also. All season tires do not have the grip and become very hard at below 0 deg Celsius (32 deg F); making stopping distances longer and handling very poor. Winter tires are made of much softer compounds to stay flexible and grip better with open tread block patterns to throw the snow and slush.
Personally I have extra winter rims equipped with studded snow tires for all my vehicles (not the Coronet, it sleeps all winter in a heated garage). I just switch the rims and store the fancy ones with the all-season tires until Spring.
PS> If you want some Tags (license plates) from New Brunswick Canada, I have lots of them. Send me one and I will send you a matching set in return. PM me

Yep as I said I have 2 sets of wheels and tyres per car. In fact over here, whichever set I am not using are kept at a 'tyre hotel'. They send me an SMS (text message) with a booking time so that I can get the next seasons set fitted. I like doing it this way as my wheels are always balanced and aligned if needed, plus tyre pressures are checked as well as wear and tear.
It's a good system over here.
