55-56 horn button center piece restoration - dodge55 - 01-17-18 Anyone had a horn button center piece rechromed? If so, did you take the gold medallion off? It looks like you have to drill out a rivet on the back side. I have never seen a replacement medallion for the horn button, so I wanted to know how someone else did this? Thanks. If it is what I think it is, I grind off the rivet and then carefully drill and tap the chrome piece for small screws in my Bridgeport milling machine. On the back side center there is a rivet that must be drilled out for the medallion to come loose. I want to rechrome, repaint, and then put medallion back.
