727 rebuild - Tom66-500 - 04-02-17 Hibbing_Coronet_500 Wrote:I rebuilt mine. Buy the DVD and the book. Easy Did you do a total rebuild or just a basic overhaul? I'm trying to decide which one I'll do. I feel if I have it out and apart, it would be dumb not to do a total rebuild. 727 rebuild - Tom66-500 - 04-08-17 Got my rebuild kit today. Hopefully I can get started next weekend! 727 rebuild - Billb66 - 04-11-17 Just picked up a 383 727 car with no kick down linkage hooked up. Been researching it. If your car was a 2bbl carb car upgraded to 4 bbl car and the linkage was not changed to the right set it can cause problems. JUst trowing it out there. Hate to see anyone rebuild a trans only to have it start slipping again. Here is is a good article on kick down linkage problems. http://www.hotrod.com/articles/the-lowdown-on-stock-torqueflite-kick-down-linkage/ Piper pointed me me to this video that helps explain it also.
