Dad wanted it left alone so I will. Searching for for brake parts now. It's got a bad chatter when the brakes are applied. The brake pedal bounces:eek:. Im sure wheel cylinders are in order. Look at it this way, Anyone can "rod" at truck like that but how many people can make it stock? New to me "old" dodge - Mopars & Missiles - 03-12-16 Billb66 Wrote:Thanks! The coil ISN'T upside down, that's the way they were mounted at the factory. Nice truck you have, something to hang on to and enjoy. I learned to drive in my father's '49 Dodge truck, almost identical to yours back when I was about 10 yrs old. Wish I still had it, but he traded it years ago for a newer truck. Looks like that one has been converted to 12V system. They were originally 6 volt system, at least in '49. New to me "old" dodge - Billb66 - 03-12-16 Thanks! drums are probably crusty I haven't pulled anything yet. Dad converted it to 12 volt back in the 80's. I didn't know a coil was ever upside down on purpose (thanks for the info). MSD blaster coils specifically say don't mount upside down so I Was projecting that knowledge back a few years. New to me "old" dodge - Mopars & Missiles - 03-12-16 Here's a photo of a '53 that looks VERY close to factory original, at least as far as I can remember how they looked back in the day. We're talking about 55-60 years of my old memories, so I could be wrong of course. 8044] New to me "old" dodge - Billb66 - 03-12-16 Mopars & Missiles Wrote:Here's a photo of a '53 that looks VERY close to factory original, at least as far as I can remember how they looked back in the day.
