Anyone had a horn button center piece rechromed? If so, did you take the gold medallion off? It looks like you have to drill out a rivet on the back side. I have never seen a replacement medallion for the horn button, so I wanted to know how someone else did this?

Thanks.

Picture? If it is what I think it is, I grind off the rivet and then carefully drill and tap the chrome piece for small screws in my Bridgeport milling machine.

Where are you located?

Here's one from eBay. On the back side center there is a rivet that must be drilled out for the medallion to come loose. I want to rechrome, repaint, and then put medallion back. Didn't know if anyone had done that before.

I'm near Atlanta, GA.
Well that is different than what I expected. Never took one apart that looked like that.

How will you reattach it when you drill out the rivet?
Don't know. I was hoping someone had done this before and knew how to do it.
