Hi all. It has been 20 plus years since I left Arizona and put my car hobby aside to raise 3 boys . Sold all my cars and parts to buy some land build a house and raise a family. And I had a lot back then. Now the boys are grown up and I'm slowly trying to work my way back in to the hobby with a 66 coronet 500. I have also been reproducing the lug nuts for the spyder wheel at my machine shop. This past May I took the family back to Arizona for a vacation and reconnected with a good friend who I had lost touch with when I left. Richard Kane, who turned me on to this sight. Glad to be back in touch with a good friend and be part of the Mopar family again.
Welcome to the site... you'll find lots of good folks here..
Except for that wanna be garden gnome from Phoenix.. I'd be careful around him
A HUGE welcome and thank you for joining us here on the DCR Rich!
It was fantastic seeing you and Cathy and your oldest son who was but an infant the last time we spoke! Time really has flown bye hasn't it? We'll have to make sure that losing touch never happens again my friend! I will say though, even though it's been well over twenty years since we last spoke, when we visited last month it seemed much more like we had just recently talked! Just a sign of a truly good friendship indeed!
As mentioned, we have LOTS of exceptional folks here, many who love and own the 1966 and 1967 Coronets like you and I have, so it's really nice having another 1966 Coronet 500 owner join us! We'll all look forward to having you show and tell us much more about your latest Coronet. Being black over black makes it very cool, but also having it be a rather lightly optioned 500 model makes it very interesting as well!
Richard
Here are a couple picture bringing the 66 home from west of St. Louis in the summer 2015. Last time on the road 1987.8544]8545]
Another Rich??? This place is getting overrun with em!
Nice car you got there... what are the plans for it?
Love it! Welcome to the site!
I haven't had one to drive in so long I just want to get it road
and drive it since it is complete. All the floors are good and the trunk floor is all solid. It does have some various rust areas in the right rear frame rail. Not sure yet if it warents the replacement of the whole rail or patching it. I have never done frame rail work with the trunk floor intact. That is something for over winter when its parked. The original 361 had stuck valves from sitting and would not start. I had a low mileage 66 440 with a 727 trans that I dropped in to get it running. Now its fuel system, brakes and a windshield.
Welcome to the site Rich, from another Rich! LOL.
If we're lucky we can keep Mikes head spinning.
That's a nice 66 you are working on.
Thanks for all the welcomes and again to my good friend Richard. Must be a good site with all the Richs here. Ill keep you all updated as I go. Hoping to have her on the road yet this summer. I have gotten a little carried away with removing the undercoating from the rear before I install the new tank and lines. Couldn't help myself.
