Doing some wet sanding 400 to 600 and now can see how unstrait I really got the body especially around the repaired areas. I think that with some polyester spray on primer that I have I might be able to get it a little bit straighter after I block it some more. Seeing how good it is starting to look is pushing me to do more & more & more. Pushing me towards a higher level of completion. Especially when I read about all the projects here that are in a class by themselves, nontheless inspiring me. I'm hoping that the body and paint overwhelms them into not picking up on the chrome and stainless issues. Oh what a Disease this can become.

Do you have a flat board? That will take the high spots off nicely.

Somebody grab me a surfboard!
Honestly tho be proud of what YOU can do and not what you PAID someone to do. I tell myself that when I pick apart my work. I did everything I could with the tools I have available and this is what I did.

Thanks, I do still have some spray on polyester filler that I didn't use. I'm thinking of just spraying the driver side then using a long board I have to see if I can do better. Decisions Decisions...

If it's that wavy I would block it first before spraying on more. There might be enough fill already on the panel to get it flatter. Then on your final couple of blockings use the spray on filler.

I think after you guys get done, we need to lineup all the 88-1's and compare notes!

I block sanded the driver side yesterday with the long board then put some slick sand on it. Today I blocked it some more with the long board and put 2 more coats on. I think I got 90% of the waves out so just need to wet sand again. Looks way better now but that's before wet sanding. We'll see.

I was getting the car ready to paint today. I washed it and taped it up but tweaked my back in the process so I got the garage ready and put the car cover on it for now. Hopefully next week the weather is good and I'm feeling better.
