anyone have a close up pic of the factory am radio for my 67 coronet 500? do they make a am/fm? etc...
I want to put it back in factory...and I run my ipod thru it but keep stock look.
They did have an am/fm option in 67!
I agree Steve.

There were two different factory radio options for the 1967 Coronets as seen below from the 1967 Factory Parts Book.

Part number 2661221 (used in 1966 and 1967 Coronets)
Radio model number: 232
Radio description: AM Music Master

Part number: 2661222 (used in 1967 Coronets)
Radio model number: 370
Radio description: Deluxe AM / FM

Unless your Coronet is a highly optioned car, I'd bet that it originally came with the model 232 AM Music Master radio. Below are some close up pictures of the 1966 model 232 radio which is the same for 1967 cars. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures of the model 370 AM / FM radio and to be honest, I've never seen one up close and personal. You might want to consider finding a cheaply priced model 232 AM Music Master radio somewhere and then shipping it off to one of the companies that can gut it and fill it with modern parts while keeping all of the outside parts of the radio completely factory original looking.

I use radiorad and it runs thru the am channel of my choice and uses my ipod, phone, etc...for music. keeping all stock appearing. all wires are hidden in behind the radio never seen....

Just to reinforce what's already been said, I had a look at my original '66 colour brochure and, under options, it simply states "transistorized radio", also makes mention of an optional rear speaker for all models except the station wagon and that's it. Oh and also it shows that funky wood grain wheel available in the 440 & 500 models only.
yep thats the radio in mine

cool link, thanks for posting it

I just got my AM radio working in my 67 Coronet not to long ago, went to pep boys and got a stock type replacement speaker for $20. Wanted those sweet memories I used to drive around with the AM playing all the time, but that was cool we had some good Doo Wop stations in the Philly area 15 years ago..any rate I didnt take account of the MSD I put in since then...so if I am sitting in the driveway with the car OFF, it sounds great! lol

I was thinking for the Charger using a radio delete plate and just running an Ipod with a speaker hook up
Careful the music you play.. if you start hearing this, you know you're in trouble..
