Time for an update -
MATS was a bust, flat tire, oil leak and my Pan e Vac system did not work (or worked too good). I only got 2 1/8th mile passes in and folded it up. The only positive was a 1.42 60ft. I pulled the engine back out and it was such a pain in the ass (as was the installation) to get it out I decided I was going to do anything I could to make it easier for next time. I had interference issues with the external oil pick up line and k-member, the top transmission bell housing bolts are almost impossible to get to because of the CSI scatter shield (you cant lower the engine enough to gain the needed space to get the top bolts - if you are pulling the trans instead of the engine its not so bad. I should have done it long ago but I yanked the K-member so I can notch it. Hopefully this will allow me to lower it enough to install the top bellhousing bolts, as I do not want to drill holes in the firewall for access. Another thing I'll be doing is welding nuts to the motor mount brackets where possible so I wont need to do the double end wrench knuckle scrape/bust/pinch mumbo jumbo when tightening the thru bolts. K member out and started the modification -

Fabbed up this reinforcement bracket for the divers mount tower - I put the curve in it to give more room for the oil pickup line.

I also be-burred the whole thing as well as cut off and or rounded off all the sharp corners and edges I will also weld on some tie down tabs. Now time to get it cleaned up -

Smart move on welding the nuts to the mount brackets.. I just had to re-tighten the front bolt cause the torque strap caused it to loosen..

Are you going to bolt it down to weld up?
