Everything is nowadays! I've gotten factory Buick Emblems for modern collision repairs at work and theres a sticker on the back- MADE IN KOREA ???
I'm concerned about an issue like you had since my motor guy had to modify the pick up to work with a non-original 699 pan. Did he bend it and now its almost cracked off???
While I'm doing the engine I will also make some changes to the trans. I got an A&A low gear set and a JW transbrake valve body. Here I am cleaning the VB to get ready to install.

I have used those for many years but have come to the conclusion that they are a bad idea. Exhaust back pressure/check valve location is very important but more importantly I find that the check valves easily fail and when they do you actually pressurize the crankcase.
Foe me just good K&N breathers now.
Good luck with the build! Fun times. I am building a 505 aftermarket block motor right now. Not going too good...........
The new motor will have an external pickup. I found this Milodon pan on facebook - paid $150, when it arrived there was a bonus . . . the pickup and bulkhead fitting! I saved $230 on the package, cha ching!

When I took a look inside the oil pan bulkhead fitting I noticed a restriction at the turn inside. It's a product of how it is made, my crude drawing (top) shows how the machining process leaves material in there which clearly causes a restriction. I used a round carbide burr in my cordless drill and cleaned out the extra material in the turn so now it looks like the lower drawing.
