Door hinges
#11
I would say buy hinges. I'm a body guy and rebuilt our originals and it wasn't fun. Reason is they weren't designed for bushings and the ears aren't perfectly parallel to each other. So when you put the busings in they wont line up with each other when trying to push the pin in. I tried to drill both sides with one bit to cut down that effect but it still wasn't perfect. The other issue I had was the thickness of the bushing shoulders caused problems when reassembling the hinge halves. They didn't want to slide together. I had to persuade them with a hammer and vise so they would mesh. After all this they wound up being tight. I'm concerned the tightness is going to pre-wear the bushings. Ya....I didn't have fun doing this.

I bet it won't cause any extra wearing, but will simply wear in then be normal.
