Hello gang.
I just finishing up underneath my 67. I loc tighted every nut and bolt including the steering box and put double nuts on the spool style motor mounts that keep coming loose.
I noticed a open gap area between the K member motor mount pad and the steering box mount.
I plan on cutting some 1/8" plate and welding this open area closed!
I hope it helps stopping the engine vibes transmitting up the steering column?
Has anyone messed with these k members to stiffen them up?

Yes, I did the same thing you're talking about. I cut some pieces to fit and welded them in to stiffen up the steering box mount area. I also went over the entire K-frame and touched up all the welds. If you want a custom kit to speed things up a bit, here's one, again from Firm Feel.

Just wondering if it will get rid of that steering wheel bounce while at the stop light?
A friend of mine thinks my car has a killer cam in it by the way the wheel bounces at idle. I say no...it's not cammed! It just looks that way......
