For 68-69 i have read that the caps for the battery was green for the slant six, 273 and 318 426 Hemi had red caps. 383 both yellow or green depending on 2 or 4 barrel Is this info valid also for the 66 models Should my original battery have green caps for the 318 Poly engine?? I haven't run a factory style battery in any of my cars and trucks for many years. The only batteries that I use now are the Optima Red Tops. No maintenance , they don't leak and they hold up well in the hot temps we have here in Arizona. Richard The Red Top in my 1966 Coronet 500. And the Red Top in my sons 1972 Dart Swinger.
