Distributor question - 67RTBlue - 01-06-16

The distributor that was in our motor is a dual point. Did an automatic R/T come this way? A quick Google search says this could be a '69?
Here is the tag.

I would think it would have a 2642822 originally
Thats looks more like a 69 ish part

I think the 4 speeds 440's and all the Hemi's were duel point. I got this from Galen's book, that is for a 69 1/2 6bbl! I'm seeing for you a 2642748 less C.A.P.

Yes it would make a difference if his has CAP or not, one I listed was with CAP

Excuse the ignorance (bump and paint guy) but what does CAP stand for? California/Clean air?

Bingo! I would think this one has some value being a 69 Manual car 6 barrel! I found it in the 69 parts book.

Well I'm pondering Pertronics ignitor or doing the Mopar orange box kit-Distributor and all. The current one spins freely and doesn't appear to have any slop in the shaft.
I know Pertronics vs Mopar or whoever is a personal choice but let me hear some opinions.

Distributor question - 67440Dodge - 01-07-16

Pertronix: except for the extra wire, can't tell it's there. Pretty reliable.

MP Distributor Kit: No longer available from Mopar Performance. Still shows in their catalog but because Mallory got bought out by MSD, they stopped producing it. There are replacement ones out there from other companies like Proform, FireCore and such. Proform looks like the MP distributor, but I'd be leery of the quality. Jegs/Summit sell their own brands as well.

If you want to send it down the road, Scott Robinson and the guys on "The Birds and the Bees", the 69 1/2 cars, on Facebook would probably "jump" on that, especally if it's in good shape

stands for cleaner air package for state of California emissions
