707 = engine assembly code = 383-2bbl
543= transmission assembly code
225 = rear axle assembly code
Check your 400 series code on the second line of the BS. I'm guessing you'll find code 401 = 2.76 gears.

I am embarrassed to admit, I bought this car and it has a 318 in it, I registered it and never never never ONCE thought about taking a hard look at the VIN. I had no idea it was a 383 car

That was the one that he had when his brother was alive, he bought it back and its not going anywhere
The one I have, he bought to make money, which is ok I use to have a 68 383 2bll 4 Speed (yup rare about 250 were made) and I sold it about 18 years ago because rent was due one month and I didn't have money so the Charger went
So its cool to me this one is a 383 car, I have odd sentiments
