Haven't done it... the ones I pulled out of my car are junk so I just plan on getting new ones. Not much help, I know, but a reply saying no is always better than no reply, imho.

I know that many here who do all of their own restoration work will roll their eyes when I say this, but when it comes to a safety item like seat belts, taking apart, cleaning and putting back together 45 year old seat belts just isn't a good option. My choice when it comes time to replace the seat belts in my 66 Coronet 500, will be an option like shown below. These reproduction seat belts are being offered for most all popular Mopars.

New or reproduction seat belts to me means SAFER belts. No frays, cuts, or other damage. I'd go for repros in a heartbeat.

Wow they didnt have those complete repro sets available when I put my car back together, but there was a guy selling restored set's using original hardware and I bought one of those since my originals were long gone. I like them he did a very nice job

I was just going to throw a spool of twine in there and let people tie themselves to the seats but I suppose I can spend a little scratch and buy some belts when I get that far.

Meh...I think you should upgrade and put a few of those 'air bags' that you see in Scruffy McGruff's pub... Wink Not Mike's though...
