What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - Joe mama - 09-03-13 67440Dodge Wrote:You know Joe.. it would have been heck of a lot cheaper just to buy a cast iron manifold if you want to run a 2 bbl... With the price of 6 pack carbs I just might run a 2bbl!! lol What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - ws27 - 09-03-13 stamm321 Wrote:Thanks Richard! That helps a lot! If you locate them Stamm, please let us know who has them. I talked to Tom Race from RT specialties a while ago about those clips and was told not available. They look like a regular push type wire clip, but the part that goes through the hole is at an angle specifically for the belt line molding. I need them for my silver car. I'd appreciate any leads on them. Thanks What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - stamm321 - 09-04-13 ws27 Wrote:If you locate them Stamm, please let us know who has them. Rich, Do you think that the 1968-70 B-Body (part number 6002549S) belt trim clips that Tom Race sells at R/T Specialties could be used as is, or modified to work on the 1966-1967 Coronets? Looks like he sells sets of 12 for $24.00 plus shipping. Richard ![]() What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - ws27 - 09-04-13 Richard, I don't know. I remember him telling me a few years ago that I would never find them and to find good used ones. If memory servers me correct (which is seldom), I thought he told me you couldn't bend straight ones. If you want me to I'll call him. I remember him telling me a few years ago that I would never find them and to find good used ones. If memory servers me correct (which is seldom), I thought he told me you couldn't bend straight ones. If you want me to I'll call him. I was thinking that the ones for the 68-70 B-Body cars that I posted above look to be similar to what you're describing for the ones used on the 1966 and 1967 cars Rich. Even though my 1966 Coronet 500 has these belt mouldings, it's been a very long time since I had them off of my car when I repainted it back in 1991, so I don't remember exactly what these fasteners look like for the 1966, or 1967 models. I will mention that Chrysler did not use the same part numbers for these fasteners for the Coronets in 1966 and 1967 and I'm probably wrong, but I just don't remember seeing many 1967 Coronets with this belt moulding trim like you see on the 1966 models. On another note Rich, the most unfortunate part about having Tom tell you that you will not likely ever see these fasteners reproduced for the belt moulding trim on the 1966, or 1967 B-Body cars, is that he is only one of MANY in his position that I've personally either spoken to, or have seen saying that very same thing on the on-line Mopar forums when either me, or anyone else has asked them to seriously consider reproduce various parts for the 66 and 67 B-Body cars and they just give the standard answer of "sorry, but reproducing parts for the 1966 and 1967 B-Body cars just isn't profitable" and that ends the conversation. pissed off On the positive side of this reasoning by the reproduction parts suppliers, is that the lack of reproduction parts for our 1966 and 1967 cars DOES help to explain why most who own them become serious "hoarders" of parts for their cars huh Rich? Ok, so maybe the two of US don't have that problem, but many OTHER owners do right my friend? (please note the dead silence and crickets chirping while Rich and me try to fabricate a better excuse for our hoarding habits) ![]() Anyway, I'm going to go give my 66 a big hug and tell it that I love it no matter what those insensitive part suppliers say! ![]() Richard What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - ws27 - 09-04-13 Hoarding??? muwaaa?
