What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - thebankerstoy - 06-17-13 BigBlock61 Wrote:I removed the left spring shackle from my old frame rail. Media blasted it as clean as I could get it. Welded up all of the holes in it. Welded it to the new frame rail on my Coronet. I also did a test fit of a Charger gas cap on the quarter of my Coronet. Just a little something to make it stand out from the crowd. This week I get to do the same thing to the right side of the Coronet. I've always loved the flip top fuel caps and have wondered why Chrysler didn't use them on more of their high performance cars. I'll look forward to seeing how yours looks on your Coronet. Will you be placing it in the same basic location that Chrysler used on the 68-70 Chargers? If so, are you going to fabricate a filler tube to the fuel tank for the new fuel cap? I should have the cap and ring today and the filler tube by next week. Once I get all the parts I can see where they sit and modify from there. I've put the cap in the same spot at on the 68 - 70 Chargers. Yea it should be interesting to make it all work. What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - 67r/t4speeder - 06-17-13 I had some ticking at certain rpm in Max like a bad lifter sound, so I pulled the valve covers and peaked around. Didn't see anything much and lifters felt tight, but as I turned engine over with a starter button I noticed two pushrods weren't like all the rest. So off came the rocker shaft and both those lifters were dished instead of domed. Cam looks good, just sunk some lifters I guess??? What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - Hemi Guy - 06-17-13 I started it up and told it that new heads and intake and carbs and a new Glass hood are in the works. It asked me if the heads were original and I said yes as they are Aluminum 1965 K heads. Then she asked about the carbs and I said original 3116 1965 Hemi carbs and she was happy. then she asked about the intake and i was sorry to say that I could not afford to buy her the original intake as it cost $3500.00 and that was out for now so I bought her a Mopar CrossRam $600.00 I could swing and told her that was going to haft-a do for now. She was upset but I think she will get over it. Dishing sounds like they were just worn out.. they were rotating still, but just had some miles on em. What did you do to your Coronet this Week ....??? - 67r/t4speeder - 06-17-13 If you put a straight edge on a hydraulic it is actually domed(convex) to create a rotation when running, I am sure there are some exceptions to this. Gotta look close but its convex, mine are doming the wrong way WAAAAAHHHHHH ![]() I need to pull my C440 out of storage and start building it up again, I already started on it then ran out of money. From what I can see cam looks good and not flat. Maybe my engine issue should be moved to the appropriate thread so I don't muk this one up. ???
