RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - 67r/t4speeder - 08-15-25 Keep the updates coming. RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - theman440 - 08-18-25 Back at it Sunday, no pictures but I filled the diff with friction modifier & gear oil. Cleaned up all the brake parts and installed them. Installed the shocks. I also replaced the fuel hard line (tank to pump) and all the rubber too with new clamps. It was a bitch because I had to modify it to get it insatlled because the car has US Cartool subframe connectors in it. RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - theman440 - 08-26-25 Bonus material - RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - 67440Dodge - 08-26-25 that gonna look familiar here soon RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - theman440 - 08-28-25 Guess what ? I'm rebuilding the front suspension too - Oh the carnage! This is the drivers lower, the passenger side isnt quite as bad. Disassembly - unfortunately I will have to buy front shocks for it. After a little clean up - Do you think this could be the original idler arm? It doesnt have any grease zerks. It is stll good too. RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - 67440Dodge - 08-28-25 Possibly is, the nuts are definetely OEM But you haven't lived til you had to do this to remove upper control arms.. Or found this once out... RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - 67r/t4speeder - 08-29-25 Yes I would say it was about due for a rebuild Jeff. C Good time to inspect for cracks in the K frame. RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - 67440Dodge - 08-30-25 You going poly or rubber bushings? RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - theman440 - 09-03-25 I'm going rubber Mike. RE: Rear-end Re-fresh - theman440 - 09-05-25 Did you notice this car has a gray K-member - ive seen a few cars with 'em. Does yours? Yay I won! I need to thank dad for helping me from the grave again, I used this sleeve from his old ball joint press to press out the upper bushings. All the suspension parts are painted black, Im' sure my dad did it back in '79 or '80. NOBODY was into factory colors/finishes back then. I'm gonna try my best to replicate the factory colors on everthing. |
