Car only has 12K on it. Did some weeding today. - thebankerstoy - 05-27-18 I'm right there with you Rich and like you, I would like to do a full restoration on my cars dashboard assembly including repainting the metal dash shell and I have all of the nos parts to do so, but I just can't make up my mind if I want to remove the windshield and related parts to make that possible or not, as my 66 500 still has all of it's original factory install glass as well. I've had a couple of body men that I trust tell me that trying to get one of the new reproduction windshields and windshield gaskets to seal properly is difficult at best due to the reproduction parts not being up to original factory specifications. Decisions decisions huh my friend? :p Richard Did some weeding today. - ws27 - 05-27-18 If you've ever pulled an old window, they used a sealer that most of todays window installers don't even know about. https://www.amazon.com/3M-08509-Bedding-Compound-Cartridge/dp/B000PF13JW I haven't used it just yet,but will soon. Most try to use 3M window weld. Did some weeding today. - thebankerstoy - 05-27-18 I agree Rich, using a high quality sealer is a must, but if the new windshields and gaskets don't meet the original factory specifications I'm not sure that a quality sealer will make a difference. From what I've heard, the new windshields arn't the same thickness as the original factory windshields were and neither are the gaskets, so they don't fit into and fill the cars windshield opening like the original parts did. If you find otherwise please let me know as that will make the decision for my car much easier! ![]() Richard Did some weeding today. - ws27 - 06-02-18 So this is why I'm rewiring the car. Also the original instrument cluster is going back in. I just have to figure out how to fix the odometer to the correct mileage. I suppose a drill motor and time will do the trick. ![]() Did some weeding today. - 67r/t4speeder - 06-02-18 Is that a dimmer switch bolted to steering column?
