Bringing the 67 Hemi down off the rack. Getting a good cleaning ... change oil ... fire it up. Possible short cruise. :-)

Yeah, the drip pans are left over from her Winter hibernation. Power steering leaks a bit, a couple of drips from the timing cover - not bad for a few months. Gotta love kitty litter!

You should see my drip pans. Washing machine pans from Home Depot. Almost every car has two.

Well I pulled the POS Comp Cams hydraulic flat tappet cam out of my daughter's car. Notice its sitting on top of a garbage pan which is exactly where it belongs.

Pulling cams while in the car ... just not my idea of fun. Hope your damage stays contained. Feel for you and your daughter. Since your torn down .... Maybe a chance for a little upgrade while your at it if other components support more cam. Sorta helps with the pain. I always like trying new parts. Good Luck

Hello Mark,
Just out of curiosity, did you run a zinc rich oil additive with that hydraulic camshaft? If not, that could explain a lot of the damage done. No zinc additive equals a damaged hydraulic camshaft and lifter set, no exceptions.

I finally took my coronet out for the first time this year. I felt like I had to learn to drive a 4 speed All over again. I'm so used to driving my work truck(Mack truck) that when I got in my car I didn't know what I was doing. After a few miles of driving it all came back to me.
