Is anyone from the board planning on attending the Portland Swap Meet? I will be there from Friday to Sunday. We will be picking up my friends race car in Salem on Thursday then heading north back to Portland.
My wife and I will be there Fri afternoon and Sat. The last time I was there was in 98! I hope to find a few items for my 65, but mostly there for the experience.
I just got back from the show and I didn't even spend one thin dime! Not a thing I could find for my car. My 2 friends also didn't find anything for their cars, a 1967 Coronet and a 1970 SuperBee. There was a 1970 Roadrunner for sale, extremely rusty 383 4-speed yellow bird for an outrageous asking price! A gorgeous red restored (somewhat) 1965 Satellite with a 440, a survivor '66 Satellite 2 door in awesome original shape and a barn find. A few other Mopars and a couple vendors selling Mopar parts. All in all not much for the Mopar crowd at all which I find is quite typical for that show. The experience, as Craig440 mentioned, is the best part of the show when a person doesn't find a needed part. It was rainy and windy most of the time and the indoor vendors must have done better business with all the buyers in those buildings. I came back home with almost as much money in my pocket as I entered the show with, minus food of course. We stayed at the Portlander Hotel, service was adequate and the shuttle busses were way faster this year. We'll be back next year of course, we look forward to the show every year.
