What Forum not as popular?

In general, most car forums have had a decline in membership since Facebook Groups started up.  Whether it's to blame or just general "I've sold car" (#2 reason received by people when board was moved to this format and people were asked if they still wanted their account, #1 was email bounced back as being invalid), use of them has declined.  I've seen it in truck forums,  activity has dropped dramatically except for a few who answer a question of someone who never shows up again (usually "how can I get Ram to pay for the wiped cam in my 2010 Ram with 195,000 miles on it?")

Here is a prime example..  when the board crashed in 2012, we couldn't keep up with the requests of "when is it coming back?" and then re-approving accounts..  Now, a busy day here is 5 people who visit over 24hrs (and that includes me). The search engine bots outnumber people 10:1.   And posting?  At least 3 people went to Carlisle last weekend, have we seen any pictures?  I didn't go, and I'll post .

I have noticed a decline in activity going on for some time.
I wish there was a way to attract attention, I've tried everything in the book, to making the forum easier to access, making picture posting easy, to opening Scruffy's to everyone. It's not perfect, but when the cost of the old software and another big one, it does the job pretty darned well. Only thing haven't done is post pictures of me with Linda Vaughan at Englishtown both topless in 2013. People don't seem to want to post here. Rich (WS27) used to be one of the biggest posters, from what I understand he now holds that title on FB. (I'm not on it.. I dumped it over 10yrs ago).

The good thing is Kevin has never charged a dime to access the board (only Scruffy's for a period of time) or plaster you with ads for Chevy Silverado's and reverse mortgages, so we're not in it for the money like the old/new owners of Moparts, or the FxBO crowd and don't have a point where losing money means shutting down.

But hey... I made some good friends here for life, done things never would have done before if hadn't joined, have a much emptier bank account too...
