So tell me Coronet kings: What is the biggest wheel/tire combo one can fit under a ´67 Coronet with:
1. Stock wheelwell and suspension.
2. Stock wheelwell but outer fender lip removed.
3. Stock wheelwell and springs moved inboard with a kit.

Real life experiences only please.

A friend with að ´67 GTX tells me he can get bigger tires under his car by deflating them during mounting. Is that your experience too?

Stock 67 Coronet 500 with original moldings 255/60-15 with a 15 x 7 wheel. Rubbed molding on turns with a 15 x 8 rim.

Can't help with the others.
Thanks, Mark Z, this is exactly the info I was looking for.

I have 255 x 8 with a 4.5 back space. Also have 275 x 8 with 4.5 back space which rubs on cornering hard. I think with a 5.5 backspace you will be fine. The reason I use different tire sizes is I have a vert and use different wheels with the top up or down
My 67 Wagon has 275/60r15 on the rear, 15x8 cop wheel, 4.5" BS. Front is 245/60r15, 15x7 cop wheel 4" BS.
The only clearance work was trim screw in wheel well, ground down screw all good.
Stiff heavy duty springs and Firm Feel rear sway bar sure do help keep axel centered.
Tried to load a photo but having no luck.
The shape of the outer wheelhouse on a 2dr hardtop protrudes into the area. This shape baffles me as it really don’t match the shape of the qtr. this protrusion area will occasionally rub on our setup. Stock suspension with 15” on 235’s
