So yesterday was a beautiful morning and I decided to take the car to work. Its about 44 miles to work.
I work near Rich in Watertown. Anyways about 15 mins into the ride my car lost power and was shaking and
knocking bad! Like someone just retarded the distributer a whole turn. The car did not over heat and no hoses were blown. And the car starts with no problems, its just when you excel. I am going to figure it out tonight. Just figured I'd throw it out there.

Thanks for any help or recommendations.
I think I figured it out, Vacuum leak! I'll check tonight when I get home!
Maybe the choke didn't open ?
I was looking at your new air cleaner and wondering if the coil could be arcing to the base plate?
Also if you haven't driven the car a lot, maybe a gummed up fuel filter? Make sure you are getting fuel.

No the coil is actually pretty good distance away. probably 1.5"/2" or so.
Ground problem when it gets warm? Could be another electrical problem?
Send it to Arizona I will troubleshoot it..... over the next 36 months.
I a similar event with my 67. It turned out that the ignition module was not getting 12+ volts due to a poor ground. Under a low voltage condition the car would lay down on power, misfire etc.. Something to consider....
Well what I was hoping does not seem to be. I now don't think its a vacuum leak but I am still hoping it is!
Tonight I will try to diagnose the problem and hopefully fix it for a car show this weekend. I will look at everything you guys have suggested and let you all know. Thanks for the help.
