Is this a normal thing? I'm 5'7" so that don't help. My dad has an inch or two on me and he looks like a little old man driving the car! Car had one inch pieces of pipe under the drivers seat that I'm guessing the original owner put in to gain some height. Is it just the seats in these cars?
New foam and seat covers by the way. No broken springs either.

I am 6'2", and feel low when I drive my 67 R/T. I guess it's just the way they sit....

They make plastic spacers to go under the legs of the sear. Not sure if they are correct, but they may help.

The spacers were on my seats when I got my car, should be factory and after I had my new covers on and the seats refoamed at the same time, it sits good for me, I'm 6' 4".

Those are factory. I had them on mine and I'm pretty sure the other cars I've worked on had them.

I agree, those insulator spacers were standard equipment on most all bucket seats and bench seats for the 1966 and 1967 cars. I don't remember if my 1970 Charger R/T had them, but I'd bet it did. Those insulator spacers are roughly 1 inch or so thick and the bucket or bench seat rail mounting studs pass through them and then through the floor pans. They are located between the bottom of the seat mounting rails and the top of the floor pans on the inside on the cars interior.

Most all of the aftermarket Mopar parts suppliers such as R/T Specialists and many others sell those insulator spacers in two ways. Either as a pack of 4 insulator spacers by themselves, or as a package of 4 insulator spacers, 4 seat mounting nuts and 4 lock washers for the mounting nuts as shown below.. You will need one pack to do a front bench seat and 2 packs to do both front bucket seats.
