Thank you for clearing your name up for me Anders, as I enjoy calling my friends by their first names rather than by screen names!

Your Coronet IS very special as ALL coronets are my friend!

By the way, I don't do "Facebook" either, never have, never will, so we have that in common also! Big Grin

thebankerstoy Wrote:Hello Anders,

Well, after looking through all of the Chrysler Factory Parts Books from model year 1960 through 1969, I can tell you that part number 299521 that you've given me is not listed in any of those model year parts books anywhere. I've also checked for this part number in several of my other resources without finding it either, so even though I do see folks selling that dual post mirror under that part number all over Ebay, I can't give you any information on it.

Since it's not listed in any of the model year Factory Parts Books that the Ebay sellers are saying that the mirror fits on, I'd have to go back to my original suspicion that it's a mirror that Chrysler had supplied to their dealerships to sell over the counter in their Parts Departments, as if the mirror was a factory option for cars being built on the assembly line, it would be listed in the various Factory Parts Books for the model years it was used.

The closest that I could find to the the ones being sold on Ebay (first picture below) was in a 1966 Chrysler parts catalog called "Chrysler Parts 1966 Accessories Car Appearance And Maintenance Materials Parts Managers Catalog" (second and third pictures below).

It is a cool looking mirror and you really like it, so if you have a matching passenger side mirror, go ahead and install it and enjoy it!

This is what is on our `66 left side
I sure would love to know what part number is stamped on your wagon Morgan's mirror Andy!

Having one of the dual post mirrors on a 1966 Coronet is not uncommon, what is unusual in this conversation is that the part number Anders gave me doesn't match any of the part numbers in the Factory Parts Books and as I mentioned to him, I've never seen one of the dual post mirrors on a 66 Coronet 500 trim level car before. All that I've ever seen have the remote control mirror (part # 2802 835) as shown in this thread on my 66 Coronet 500.

Morgan is a 440 is that change things ?
Yes it does Andy. As I've been mentioning throughout this thread, the dual post non remote mirrors were an option on the base, Deluxe and 440 trim level Coronets in 1966, but I've never seen a dual post mirror like you see on Anders car and you have on Morgan on a 1966 Coronet 500 trim level car. The only mirror that I've ever seen on a 1966 Coronet 500 trim level car are the remote control single post mirror like on my car and like you have on Max.
