Quote:...and the "J"-hook for the 66-67 gas tank strap! People asked me: "you mean they're differant"?
ws27 Wrote:I think that is being made not Steve.

That's very interesting Rich. Would you have any information regarding who might be offering the special "J" studs to mount the fuel tank on the 1966 and 1967 B-Body cars? It would be fantastic to share that information with other 1966 and 1967 B-Body owners that need this part!

Regarding the differences between the 1966-67 mounting stud on the top and the 1968-1970 mounting stud on the bottom, that becomes very obvious when they are placed next to each other! Another major difference between the 1966-67 cars and the 1968-70 cars is that the 1966-67 cars only use one mounting stud and mounting strap and the 1968-70 cars use two studs and straps. One other major difference between the two sets of model year cars is that the 1966-67 cars have their single fuel tank mounting strap placed facing east and west on the car while the dual mounting straps on the 1968-70 cars are placed facing north and south! Wink And yet there have been more than a few retailers stating that the 1968-70 mounting studs and mounting straps are correct for the 1966-67 cars! Sad

I'm wrong Richard. For some reason I thought they were being reproduced recently. Not sure where I got that into my head.

I didn't know you had an NOS one Richard.

Unfortunately it's not an nos part Rich, just a very nice used part that's been thoroughly cleaned. I was so hoping that you had found a source that was reproducing them somewhere my friend, as this part is exposed to the elements and are usually rusted or damaged when owners try to remove them. As we've talked about before, the 1968-1970 studs that are being reproduced are not interchangeable with the 1966-1967 studs, so once again we get the middle finger salute. (sigh Sad)

Richard
What do you mean it "is" don't you mean it "was". LOL

Rofl You're correct my friend, it's now safely stored away from the elements just as that nos drivers side defroster duct is! Wink

You might want to check you stock!

No worries there Rich, I have a "security system" in place and she takes her duties VERY seriously! Smile

And the folks who produce the reproduction parts say that there's no interest in the 1966 and 1967 B-Body parts............
