Hello Everybody!


For 68-69 i have read that the caps for the battery was green for the slant six, 273 and 318

426 Hemi had red caps. 383 both yellow or green depending on 2 or 4 barrel

Is this info valid also for the 66 models

Should my original battery have green caps for the 318 Poly engine??

Can't say for sure, but I want to say that they were green. I haven't run a factory style battery in any of my cars and trucks for many years. The only batteries that I use now are the Optima Red Tops. No maintenance , they don't leak and they hold up well in the hot temps we have here in Arizona.

If this website is correct, then it should be green tops.
