Hey all,
I am looking to clean up my interior on a budget. My bucket seats are pretty mangled (down to the springs). I will try to post a picture of my seats. Any idea what the cost comparison would be between getting the original bucket seats reupholstered verses buying new seats from Legendary or somewhere else?
Also, anyone know of any good upholstery shops in the California bay area?
Thanks
Buy the foam kit from legendary along with the seat covers and do them yourself, ITS EASY and rewarding!
I did all of my seats myself.7822]7823]
When looking to something on a budget, it is almost always less costly to provide your own labor. I have done 2 sets of buckets, and a rear seat which I even had to make my own foam padding for, and all turned out fine. If you take your time, be patient, look up all tips on the internet, it can be done well.
Nice! Are there any links to videos or documents that are helpful in educating someone how to go about reupholstering seats for the first time?
When doing seat backs, take a plastic garbage bag and cut the bottom out of it. Slide it over the seat foam to about halfway down. Then take the seat cover and fold it inside out, so it's halfway unfolded. The plastic bag helps the rough side of the vinyl slide over the foam, and folding the cover in half makes it easier to work with. Once you get the cover down a good amount on the seat back, pull the plastic bag out.
Also, leave the seat covers out in the sun for a few hours before you do it. The sun will warm the vinyl up and make it easier to work with.
I took my buckets out and back seat, went to a upholstery shop, cash only (hehe),had Coronet 500 stitched in the the rear back seat, both sides, 500.00. Gotta figure in the cost of no headache and screw ups
