At least on a A body this part of the tunnel needs to be cut out and re braced so this how I did it to make sure torsion support is still strong. And modified the factory transmission brace to fit. Everything fit very nice I thought. I did have to get a 80" speedo cable to make up for the longer tail shaft.
Nice work Andy. Did the cross member flex at all when you cut it? I would think the torsion bars would at least flex it.
Once the transmission cross member is bolted in it should make it even stronger.
Hi Rich, I did all the fab work with the torsion's backed off, also plug welded the new support to the floor pan like factory so it very solid.
Nice work Andy.
Question - are you going to put 3.91 or 4.10 gears in the rear?

Haven't decided yet, my 3.23 aren't going to cut it though I bet even with 14" tires.
