Okay before I dive in I need to do a little research (and save some money for this project!)
Did 68 Coronets have an option to have head rests on the bucket seats?
Is it possible to get the head rests added to existing bucket seats?
How rare is the paint color Medium Dark Turquoise Metallic?
Thanks, Mike
Good idea.
Yes.
Probably.
No way to know. Colors were not tracked before 1970.
The strange thing about the options list is they show a price for each head rest individually! All the seat frames have the required holes in them for head rests. The problem is the extra hardware needed is only included on seats that originally came with them. My seats didn't come with rests, but my friend had the hardware on some parts cars in KY. I bought a pair of repops, installed the hardware, reskinned the seats, and done. I am not sure if they repop the hardware or not. Certain things are different depending on whether the seat is bench or buckets. If you looks at repops of the bezels, you will see one is bigger and rectangular, while the other is sort of triangular.
Damn 69Coronetrt,love the way you answered that,no BS there, just give me the facts, let's be simple, this is why I love this site!!!!!!
Good to know the original buckets have he holes for the headrests thanks Mike1968rt. The bucket seats need new covers, so will be on the lookout for some head rests.
Thanks for the responses
They do make the rebuild kit for the headrest. Yearone, classic industries and many other places sell them. Pretty inexpensive.
I was just sent the Classic Industries catalog a week ago. The hardware is $135. Repop head rests go for $295.
