I have a 69 Dodge 383 2 barrel Motor, Curious what people are using when switching to a 4 barrel Manifold for a Carb for a quick easy switch?
THanks a head of time for the Great info I will get!!
Chris
I've been considering a Thermoquad 800 cfm... if set up right they will smoke a qudrajet. I am by no means a expert on fuel delivery and mass air flow but a guy that helps me with mechanicals at my shop was part owner and driver of a 5 car Dart drag team in the early 70s. Stan rebuilt me a Thermoquad, tuned it and dropped it on a Weiand 8007 for my '70 Dart- I gained 27 hp without the quadrajet secondaries hesitation. When the secondaries open its like a small NOS hit. Summit sells reman Thermoquad part # SUM-210236 & Weiand intake WND-8008, this ought to be a killer combo and keep things relatively stock looking. I will be dropping this combination on my '66 vert.
Good luck for a confusing operation.
Personally I am a Holley guy. I grew up on them so I know them. For street duty a 650 or 700 cfm vacuum secondary should work really well on a Holley Street Dominator intake. If you do any racing a double pumper would be better.
I'm running a edelbrock single plane with a edelbrock 600 cfm.
Dual plane holley 750 double pumper, I get great gas mileage,ha
Since you currently have a 2bbl motor, it sounds like there are no performance modifications done to the motor (small valve heads, stock cam).
Just me, I'd run no bigger than a 600CFM vac secondary carb. A smaller CFM carb might perform better depending on the gearing and trans in the car
