Getting dark early and my stock headlights just don't cut it. So I bought some Hella lights, high and low beams. I might have to beef up charging system after this and that's fine.

I put one low in here in pic so you can see the difference, and after I finish all I will post another pic. One of the adjusters broke last night so I have to find one today. I drove it to work this AM with both new lows installed and I can see again and did not notice any difference on gauge even at idle. My charging system is stock except for a solid state regulator so far.

In some states these will be illegal except off road but are allowed around here.

Nice, I'd love to know how much more they draw. What do the head lights look like off? Are they similar to stock ones?

BTW, it might not be the head lights, the driver is getting along in years, just don't tell him!
O I see whete your going with this Rich, I should have invested in glasses or hire a younger person like yourself to drive elders like myself around?
Not at all, it's your car to bump the grill surrounds up.

Just try not to bump them up too bad so I won't have too much work later.
I changed mine this last summer as well.. You ARE going to need to run relays! Don't risk it running on your stock wiring.

What watt bulbs did you use ? They make monster ones, I didn't get those.
I am pretty sure they are 100W H4's, Osram I think.
Here is some good reading on this subject
