Hello,

I am considering purchasing a 69 Coronet RT and need your opinions on WIW. Asking price is $36,500 but i've negotiated a lower price which I will reveal only if I purchase to respect the seller. There are 2 other potential buyer right now and the seller expects to sell fairly quickly. He told me that he owned and has since sold 4 top showing Hemi cars and this one looks pretty nice in the pics so I'm pretty sure he is the real deal and collects top of the line cars. I got these comments on another forum,
Quote:Hard to tell in those pictures but get better pictures of the front of the fenders to see if they filled in the seam by the grill area. My guess is that the front of those fenders are made of plastic, just look at the width and shape of them. Also has 68 style DODGE letters on trunk.

Thanks for your input!

Dave

The ad info and pics for the Coronet are below. These are the factors that might affect the value: NOM, is 440 6 pack which was not an option on the 69 RT coronet, Lemon Twist Yellow was not an available color in 69, non original wheels.

This car reminds me alot of another Coronet I've been helping a friend on. Has over $50K in receipts from the restoration, and when you look at the car, it looks like it. But I see lot in these pictures that I see in the other car. it looks pretty, but once you start looking closer, you see lot of what was covered up or just not done.

Things like the axle tube is painted, but you can see where it wasn't removed from the car to be painted. (you can see the old road rust/grime by the spring perches).

In the trunk, those rust spots are from painted over rust that is being exposed to water again. (you can see the water trails on the trunk mat). You can also see the rust appearing below the weatherstripping in the trunk.

Axle housing has LOT of rust pockmarks on it. Won't affect the strength, but is an indication of what condition the car was in before the restoration.

Just me, but this might be a car you want to have someone look at in person before you buy it. There may be other things that aren't in the pictures.
I was planning on inspecting in person but now I am not sure. The little things don't bother me but rust issues like the ones pointed out make me think what else was improperly done.
Thanks all!
I think if you're considering 30K + for a car, you could do way better!!!!!!!
