FOUND IT!!..
Is it just me or is the Accel plug too short on the threads and electrode end? The insulator and plug end seem to be the same, but the electrode end doesn't look like it would extend into the combustion chamber at all. Not to mention the fact the hex part of the plug is too big..

Even with 1 7/8 tubes, I had to ding the hell out of #2 to get it to clear. And even then I needed some DEI plug protectors to keep it from burning up.
I thought the same..they list for 440s..also seen others had used them on eddy heads
TTI makes a 1 7/8 header for 440 with eddy heads.

You're killing me? I will post some pics of my old starter that came out of my race car (440 with the 5209 super comp headers) and it looks exactly like yours. Did not have to remove the black tab..............
