Newbie here and I'm looking for some help identifying what I'm dealing with. My brother in-law passed away last week and he had this car sitting in his garage. I told my sister in-law I would help her sell it. She said the car has not been driven for many years. I checked all the fluids (oil and rad) and they look new. There isn't a battery in the car and I would like to put one in to see if it will start. Is there anything I should do prior to starting?

I have the vin and fender tag, can somebody give information about the car? The paint looks original.

Might want to prime it before you start it. Check all the fluids and battery. Nice 65. What are you thinking of sell it for? Not interested in keep in it?
First, Sorry for you're loss second I agree with Jenn if she's been sitting a while not a bad idea to prime it

Let us know where you are located. .maybe a dcr member can assist
Thanks, I'm in Michigan, Motown, home of the Coronet. I do not plan on keeping it. I have a Viper fetish and no room in the garage. I did not have a relationship with my brother in-law and as a result I don't know anything about the car. My sister in-law said it has not been driven in years. I noticed the slicks and I also found an old picture of the car from the 70's or 80's and it has the same wheels on it. I don't know what engine was stock in the car but I found receipts from 1972 for a 440 block, Weiland intake, hooker headers, and TRW Pistons. The basement has boxes of extra parts as well as the huge ass trunk on this thing.

It would be great to have someone local who knows about Mopars. They could look at the car and all the spare parts. Can anybody tell from the fender code what engine it should have in it. I also found a transmission in the basement and extra front/rear seats.

What is priming?

I connected a battery and the electrical system works well.
I'm waiting for a friend to come over and do the engine prime.

I'd like to sell this car for $6000 Does that seen reasonable?

I found some extra car parts in the garage. Seats, door trim, tail lights, body trim, full center council ....

Nice 500, I have had one in the past.....a 426 Wedge car. What is the engine now. Thanks. BM
It has a 440 in it now.
That is a really nice car, you have something special there. 6K is too low.
In my opinion, $6k is considerably low for that car. If I didn't have my daughter's car I would jump on it in an instant. I really like that car.......

The air cleaner has some decent value - not sure how much but being an original several or many hundred dollars most likely. There are a couple of different versions of that cleaner depending on application and I can't tell anymore what they are. Years go I knew the differences off the top of my head.
