Well Its been about 8 months since I posted on here. Have been busy working and so on. Just life in general like everyone else I guess.
Sold the 67 R/T that I posted on last year to try to down size a little. Also sold a petty blue 72 340 rallye charger project. While selling a guy some parts I found a car that I really wanted and had to get rid of a lot of parts that I have been hanging onto for many years as well as the 69 383 4 speed super bee that I had. I was able to make a deal for the car after liquidating quite alot of stuff to make it happen. I have been busy working on it to do odd and end things to make it run better as it had set for a long time with little driving. The car was last restored in 1983 so its been a few days and has only had about 8,000 mile put on it in the time. I hope to be close to being able to enjoy this thing before long. The car was bought new at Bitzer Dodge in Salem,Il. It stayed in that area pretty much until it was sold in the early 80's then went to the Fort Wayne,In area. I was able to track the cars owners back to the original through some very good help and some old registrations that were in the glove box. The original owner had this blue hemi super bee and his brother had a red 69 hemi 4 speed super bee at the same time. It is originally QQ1 blue, blue interior, black stripe. Its a 426 hemi automatic on the column car. When the guy restored it in 83 he said he wanted it to look like the car on the 1968 super bee ad poster so he did it white with black interior. The car is non-numbers matching, and I hope maybe one day I can find the engine and trans. The second owner spun a rod and the engine was pulled. Then the car was sold without the engine and trans so the rest is history. I did hear from the third owner that the cars engine went into his 1970 B3 blue hemi roadrunner that was eventually sold to someone in New York. He also said he sold the original trans years later at the Mopar Nats in the late 90's. The last of the vin is 8G274085 in case someone might have a 68 hemi engine or 727 trans they want to check to see if it is the original engine or trans. I am going to post some pictures from when I bought it up through the other day. Also if anyone might have any info on the car please let me know. Thanks, Matt
Hi Matt,
Great buy. Thanks for the pics. Are you going to keep it white, or back to blue?

I plan to keep the car white for now. If in the future when it gets time to restore/redo things it will go back blue on blue.

Here is a picture of my bee circa 1971 in Alma,Il .

Hay Matt, great to hear from you again. So you sold the 67 RT for one of those new cars that have all the plastic in the interior? What's gotten into you?? And to top it all off you got it with one of those lazy man specials where you can easily change the spark plugs. I'm not sure if I can associate with you any more. What next, being able to order most any replacement part you want, oh the insanity!

That looks like a GREAT car you can have fun with. It really doesn't look too far from being roadWorthy. What do you have to do to get it up and running?

Oh, and if you have any problems, just send it up my way and I'll be more than happy to square away any drivability issues. I specialize in very, very thorough test drives. Just be patient, it may take a few years.

Man talk about getting abused like a government donkey. In all fairness the 67 was /is one of my favorite cars I have owned , but it just wasn't in the cards at the time. BTW the plugs are easy to cheange, but you should try the exhaust manifold gaskets with the engine in the car.

Welcome back Matt

Thanks Andy. It seems like I can not stay with out a Coronet for long!
Matt
8000 miles since `83? I hope you can take it out more often than they did and enjoy it Matt.

I like both colors but that white with the center line wheels looks killer
Thats a nice car. I hope you drive it more than the previous owner did!
