I knew I should have paid the $150. the nice lady at MoparFest wanted for a genuine parts manual, now I could use one. Anyway, I'm hoping someone out there has one for a '66 Coronet and can look up the part # for the Throttle cable. It's for a 318 Poly with 2 BBL carb and automatic. I noticed mine is fraying, one strand broken, while changing the intake gaskets, don't know how long it's been like that but I can't trust it now that I've seen it. Couldn't seem to find one using google search and dealers around here don't have parts books that go back that far. However, one did say that they could search for one if I could supply the part#.
Help!
Thanks for the part # theman440. I checked the web site & it sure looks like the right part. $150. had me gasping a bit, by the time I get it up here, it'll probably be closer to $200. I'm going to give the local Mopar dealer a try & see what they can find with this number - maybe I'll get lucky.
Are there no reproductions available?
I have bought from Herb's before, good service. He seems to have a large selection, but the 318 2BBL is not list, so give them a call; they are in Delaware
PH: (302) 376-8508 and they are very Mopar knowledgeable. Best part is that it's less expensive

Thanks guys, still working on it. I tried theman440's p/n at my local Mopar dealer & it didn't work. A local Belvedere owner tells me he had good luck with a LOKAR cable - I checked out his car (440 motor) & it also looks good, another option. Back in the 70's, I worked as a motorcycle Mechanic & we used to make our own cables from bulk supplies. Decided I'd try that but was surprised to find that modern motorcycle shops don't do that anymore & don't have supplies. The local NAPA dealer can send my cable to Quebec for a "quote" and possibly have it reproduced but I'm not comfortable with sending the one I have away. Apparently, the '66 Poly 2bbl cable is a "one year only" design & very hard to find. I know there's one in Las Vegas for $150. but I'm not ready to take that plunge yet. Still think I have a shot at building my own as I can source inner cable in various lengths from my local M/C shop and make up my own fittings. Won't know if that's feasible 'til I remove the cable next week when I have the time. Fun, eh?
I have used a Lokar on a few cars one a /6 duster and I ordered there black series and it looked much better than the bling silver one. I think you just add a b after the # and you get black.
Just an idea
