I'm just curious if anyone here is using these heads? If so, did you use aftermarket adjustable rockers or stock rocker arms with adjustable pushrods? Edelbrock doesn't specify a preferred method or manufacturer. (Which I find ironic as they insist on TTI headers for the exhaust)
I'm looking for recommendations for durability more than anything. This will be a street driven motor. Harland Sharp sounds like a good option for long term adjustments but only made in aluminum raising the question of longevity. PRW makes a stainless rocker but it sounds like they continually need adjustment due to a weak locking system, also foreign made so quality control appears to be an issue. Stock replacements would be the cheapest way to go but supposedly have a less than 1.5 ratio and still require adjustable pushrods...... Anyone have recommendations for adjustable rods?
I haven't been able to find much info on Crane or Comp Cams stuff, either good or bad.....
Anyone have any thoughts?

I have eddy heads on the 400 in my dart. I have comp cams stainless rockers(adjustable) with non adjustable pushrods. I know I had to buy non stock length pushrods, but I don`t remember the length(longer or shorter). I have never had to readjust the rocker arms in 8 years. on my coronet it has 452 heads with Harland sharp rockers, I have never adjusted them either since I put the motor together 14 years ago.

I should have also mentioned that the eddy heads on my dart were milled quite a bit(again I cant remember how much) but it took 10cc`s off of the combustion chamber. so that is most likely why I needed different pushrods.

I also have the Eddy heads which have also been milled and am using the stock rocker gear and standard pushrods.

I'm guessing it's the potential for milling that has them recommending that something is adjustable. I'll admit that when I purchased a "total top end complete package, bolt it on and go!" I did NOT expect to also need to purchase additional valve train parts and headers! My fault for not reading the fine print......

I love Harland Sharp rockers, but I'm not putting another set on a street car. Run them on the race car, but am taking them off my daughter's street/strip car and putting on Crane cast adjustables. I had the Cranes bushed and they also gave me new rocker shafts. These are a very old set I had laying around - around 30 years old.

The Harlands were very loud on the street car, but it may not have been all of their fault. They are just a pain to adjust (0.015 to 0.020 inch side clearance) and it just isn't needed on a street car. BTW - I have a hydraulic cam.

One thing to note is that you want a good set of hold downs. With aluminum heads I highly recommend studs for both the head clamping and on the rocker arms- don't use bolts.

Great info! The heads come with new bolts from Edelbrock but I was planning on ARP studs anyways.

hmm.. my Eddy's came with studs for the rocker shafts. Wonder if they changed what they ship?

I'll have to check on that. I opened the boxes briefly when they arrived but never looked close at the heads themselves. I put everything up on a shelf until I get a short block going.
