Bottom to top:

E63= 383-4bbl. In this case because of the A/C and automatic, 330 horse
D32= Automatic transmission
WP27 = Coronet 500 (WP) convertible (27)
H9G= 383-4bbl(H) model year (9) assembly plant (G=Stl Louis. Starting in 67, the STL plant built B body convertibles)
202279= remainder of VIN number

R6 R6= Exterior paint code. Usually this means the color of the top and the color of the rest of the body so a white painted top over a black body would code W1 and X9. When the paint code appears twice, it means the car was all one color. It is a coding quirk that STL plant coded the top paint even on convertibles.
P6V= Interior trim and color code. Premium level(P), vinyl bucket seats (6) in red and white (V). In my opinion, a very good looking interior. With the R6 paint, a stunning comvbination.
R6= Inner upper metal door panel painted red to match the interior.
114= Scheduled production date of January (1) 14th (14) 1969
272115= The Vehicle Order Number (VON)

A01= Optional light package. See the data book for components.
A05= Optional Protection group. See data book for components.
B51= Power brakes. (I assume it has disc front brakes)
C16= Console with automatic transmission
C55= Bucket seats
G31= Right hand outside chrome mirror; manual
G33= Left hand outside chrome mirror; remote
H51= A/C
L31= Fender turn signal indicators
M31= Body belt molding (the chrome trim molding at the top of the doors that runs around the side and back of the car infront of the trunk.
M33= Body side molding (the trim piece running along the lower doors between the wheels)
P31= Power windows

R21= AM/FM radio.
26= 26" radiator because of the A/C
End = End of codes.

I have not seen this car in person but from what I have seen in pictures, it is a VERY attractive car, nicely equipped, and appears to have been well taken care of or restored. Nice purchase!

As this was a mid January build, I have a couple of detail questions if I may....

Some parts transitioned over the year and there is not a clear cut date as to when things were done.
I notice you have black push buttons on the door handle instead of chrome. Do you know if they are original?
I see you have the wood grain shifter knob as opposed to the chrome tulip. Do we know if that is original?
If you lower your license plate to gain access to the gas cap, is the hole in the rear panel that the neck of the gas tank goes through a circle or an oval?
Can you read the part number on your tail light lenses? There is an 'early' and 'late' version of the lens. I'm curious to know which lenses this car has.

To help with your questions;
The door handles are stock with the black button.
The wood grain shifter knob is also stock.
I took pictures of the gas tank area and reflectors at the back with good pictures which show the part code.
If there is anything to share regarding how they look, I would be interested in knowing.

I spent part of this Sunday morning looking through the Hamtramck web site. I leant about the light package option and the protective package option. I saw the wood grain shifter knob in many pictures (dealer brochure?). I think I saw some slight differences between the 383 4 barrel and the 383 Magnum. I read a bit about my 6 way drivers seat - no big deal but another option.

I thought my body side moulding package was the quaterpanel chromed side scoops. I would like to know more about these. As far as I know these are completely stock.

Thanks for the reply, the pictures and thanks for checking out Hamtramck Historical. A lot of work (and schnapps and Bailey's on cold winter nights ) has gone into that site.

Yes, there are some differences between the 330 and 335 horse 383s. The 330 horse was used with A/C applications in '69.

The shifter knob changed from the chrome tulip earlier in the year to the wood grain knob somewhere around late fall/early winter of 1968. The transition period was different at each plant as each plant would use up their supply of what was on hand. (side note...Daytona Chargers seem to be the exception. Most of them seem to have the chrome tulip)

The chrome strips on the side scallops are not stock for a '69. They were apparently added. The M33 molding code is for the molding that runs along the lower body line.

The fuel inlet hole changed to an oval at some point. Yours looks like it still has the round hold. Thanks. That helps narrow down the time frame of the switch.

I was thinking there was more of a part number on the tail light lens. Apparently not but thanks for checking.

I turned the last three pictures around.
I think the part number for the rear taillight can be seen in the picture.
It reads SAE STDBR 69WP.

Car has factory AC, all window tint, power windows, right side mirror, am/fm radio, power top, glass back window, light package, trim package, R6 red with white interior, console with buckets, 383 engine with cast iron (?) exhaust manifold.

Any information about this car would be great. Like what does the light package offer? I have a map light and trunk light, console lights and back wall lights.

I know of your car, I saw it on Ebay years ago, it's 1 vin number after mine. Mine is 78 and yours is 79. Both are 383. 4 barrels with auto and a/c, optioned up almost the same. Mine is T5 copper brown with a white top and interior.

WOW!! What are the chances of that happening???
