Well this weekend I decided to put my dash in. I got everything ready and in place and my step brother
came over to give me a hand. Well after we moved it in place I realized that it was impossible to install
the 100% restored dash while the brand new AMD front windshield was installed in the car! The next words
out of my mouth were F-------CK! no I have to remove the trim and glass without damaging them. I have a
funny feeling I will be buying another AMD windshield!! Anyways just wanted to vent and also know if ANYONE
has ever installed a dash with the windshield installed in their car?
Oh-oh, you learned quite a lesson. The windshield must come out to install the top bolts. I'd suggest you sacrifice the new window gasket to save the windshield. You will most likely crack the windshield if you try to force it out of the gasket. But, if you take your time, remove the trim, cut away the entire lip of the gasket that covers the windshield edge, then carefully separate the inside of the windshield from the gasket it's sitting on, you can save the windshield. Just make sure you don't lift the windshield up off the gasket without ALL the edges unstuck.

Good luck.
I know. I'm a moron! I should have remembered that I had to remove the glass to remove the dash 6 years ago! Yeah I can just by a new gasket from soft seal. Thanks for the advice.
Just a thought before you cut that new gasket...... Call a local glass company and see if a certified installer will come out and remove the windshield for you without destroying the gasket. Might be cheaper than a gasket and they take the liability of the windshield.
You can get it out

You have to be careful
got the windshield out in 10 min. Just cut the gasket!
Great job!
