My best friend here in Phoenix use to own a 1965 Plymouth Satellite with a factory 383 / 727 powertrain combination and he would have loved to have been able to purchase these cables, as both cables were shot on his car and left a mess wherever the car was parked. :p These cables aren't inexpensive, but if yours are shot and dumping transmission oil everywhere your car is parked like my friends car did, this would be a good investment I'd think.

We have new transmission "shift" and "park" cables available for all 1962-65 Plymouth Belvedere - Fury - Satellite - Savoy - Sport - Fury - Suburban and all 1962-65 Dodge Coronet - Dart - Polara - 330 - 440. The original cables don't usually break, rather, they start leaking trans fluid out through the jackets. If one is weeping, the other will be soon so its best to replace them in pairs + + + + Specify year, make, engine and if pushbutton, floor or column shift when ordering

Those cables are long overdue! I remember back in the day yanking as many of those cables off wrecked cars and just stashing them for the future. I ended up selling a box full of them to some fellows with those year cars. They sure were grateful!

Amen Tim, as once they go bad, it's next to impossible to fix them and IF you can even find them on Ebay, they are usaually just as bad as the ones you're trying to replace.

My friend who owned the 1965 Satellite was going to swap out the original 1965 automatic transmission and replace it with a later model just to get out from having to deal with those damn cables. I know that the asking price seems rather steep to those who have never had to deal with the pre 1966 automatic transmissions, but for those who have, that price is a great investment in solving a huge problem!

Very cool Andy. I do remember this seller mentioning that they also produce other similar hard to find cables, so hopefully they will be able to help you with your needs on the 64.

He got back to me right away and that was nice.

I did another search through my stock and I had one brand new in the wrapper, what luck.

I will use him in the future I am sure
Thanks Andy. He sounds like an excellent resource for those who own pre 1966 cars.
